Poseidon and Other Adventures

What a weekend. What a week leading up to that weekend. Some highlights:

* We got a boat. Actually, my uncle got a boat, but I love the fact that we have the ability to be on the lake when we want to. I could live without the beach, but I need to live by a lake and be able to go on a lake and stick my feet over the edge of a boat. It's my dad in me. He loved to fish and one time, he went to a boat show to look and came back with a boat. I'm so excited about the boat. It's ghetto, and we've tentatively named it "Daddy Slow Down!" because that's the phrase that is most often heard on the boat. It's still pretty flippin' cool.

* My sister's graduation banquet was this weekend. Not the graduation. That super-fun event will be next weekend. The banquet and church activities were merely a taste of the angst I will feel come next weekend. I can't wait. Of course, if God chose Thursday or Friday to call His people Home, I'd be okay with that. Really...I would.

* My cousin's wedding was last night. All weekend my parents treated it like a funeral. The highlight by far for me was when my stepdad forgot me when introducing his family to his cousin. "This is my wife and my daughter" and my mom uttered the phrase "don't forget Jennifer." It was my very own Sixteen Candles moment. Only, I didn't get the gorgeous, cool guy with the car in the end.

So, this is the last week of school, and next weekend is the graduation. I am sure I will have a plethora of stories from that.
