Pink Hair Project, Part 2

There's such fun alliteration possible with the letter P!

Well, I went to dinner, and though my parents were a tad surprised, they handled themselves very well, which I was a little disappointed in. I'm such a good girl, they knew there had to be some logical reason for the hot pink, and they merely waited patiently for it. Where was that kind of parenting when I was growing up? huh?

The most fun thing about this pink hair (until today, that is) was the reaction I got at Starbucks. My regular barista just walked over and whispered "love the hair", but he just looks like the kind of guy who would dig a girl with pink hair. The woman behind the counter liked the pink hair, but when she probed further, she seemed discombobulated that I was up that early on a Sunday morning because I was going to church, and even moreso when she found out I was going to a Baptist church. That was definitely the fun part of the day, because, let me tell you how hard it actually was, finding something to wear to church that didn't clash with my head. Not an easy task my friends!

Today was scheduled to be the unpinkification day, but my minister wanted me to come to staff meeting with the doodlebop do, just to further wig out our discipleship minister that is as straight-laced as they come. This was a bonus for me, because the deacons were hosting a lunch for us, and there's nothing more fun that showing up to a deacon luncheon with pink hair.

But, the absolute best part of the day, hands down, was when my friend saw my hair. He hadn't been at church yesterday, so he had no knowledge of the pink do. He was, however, the only person at all to give me the reaction I wanted from the beginning. I'm so proud of him. When we first met, he overheard me tell someone that not everyone gets my sense of humor, but he does, and I treasure him for that. His first reaction was to say (loudly enough for me to hear it from across the room) "Oh my gosh, Jay, look at Jennifer's hair!" The absolute shock of it was gleeful for me! Then, we have this conversation, which is what I've wanted all along:

T: "Is your hair getting longer?"
me: "No, actually, I trimmed it a little."
T: "That's it! I knew there was something different about your hair!"

I love it! Just the dry humor I've come to love!

But, there's one problem... I've done all of the treatments my hair dresser told me, and I've washed my hair about 42 times, and devoted several hours to it today, and...

My hair is still pink!!!
It's not coming out!!!
