Binder Rings and a Christmas Confession

So, first let me get the December Daily business out of the way. I got my little bitty camera printer to work, so I can print credit-card pictures of my events. Which is good, so now I can fit a few pictures on each of the pages, without having to run to CVS and bother with trying to crop them to fit my page.

I got the binder rings. I got the screws from Lowe's, and again, the people at Lowe's confuse me, and I confuse them. However, putting them on was a breeze! Punching holes in a bazillion pages that I've created...not so much. But I got them done, and I really like the end result:
I might just have a knack for this creativity thing after all. Now, for the Christmas confessions.

1. I rarely listen to Christmas music on my own. I have friends that start their Christmas music in October, but I just don't abandon my regularly-scheduled musical enjoyment with Christmas music. I even have a bunch of Christmas CDs, from every different genre and I load them up at Christmas time, but don't listen to them that much.

I do, however, love hearing Christmas music in the stores. I loved walking through Lowe's and hearing "Wonderful Christmastime" and singing along. Every store I go in has Christmas music and that much I love. But I don't play it much on my own.

There are two exceptions. Roughly November 1st I start playing the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack in my classroom. And I don't stop until right around February. It's the only Christmas CD I listen to by choice. In my classroom, I play a cd that has a bunch of Christmas songs that my kids love to sing, and it brings my heart much joy when they are working and singing "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Rocking' Around the Christmas Tree."

The other exception...Christmas Eve and Christmas hymns. Come Christmas Eve, I listen to nothing but Christmas music. I love the hymns, and the thought that it's actually Christmas time.

2. I do continuously watch cheezy Christmas movies non-stop, thanks to both ABC Family and The Lifetime Entertainment Network.
They make the season for me. There's one with Tom Cavanaugh, the guy from Ed, and Ashley Williams, called Snow. I only saw the last half it last year, but fell in love with it. And this year, I'm inappropriately excited about the sequel they've made, aptly titled Snow 2. It looks awesome. I know. I'm nuttier than a fruitcake. I have the shirt to represent.

Take right now, for instance. As I type this I'm watching a cheezy Lifetime Christmas movie with Jennifer Grey sitting on the floor crying because she just kissed a man that is not the man she's planning on marrying the next day but at the same time might just be the man she's falling in love with and I just can't help but think "Nobody puts Baby in a corner." (Don't worry...she does the right thing and goes back to the guy she's supposed to marry. Only to find him in bed. With the wedding planner. The male wedding planner.)

But I'm not tearing up. I'm not. I just have something in my eye. An eyelash. In both eyes. And my allergies are bothering me. Really. They are.

And nobody puts Baby in a corner.

  1. Because of you I just turned on Lifetime. I hate that channel, but the Jennifer Grey movie you described doesn't sound like the typical abused victimized woman Lifetime movie....
