Christmas Recap: The Getting Edition

I love it that my computer all of a sudden decided to start keeping me logged in to blogger, so I don't have to log in every time I want to write or comment. It's nice, and it's like a little Christmas present from my computer.

And the manager of my local sub shop is making me fall in luv with him. Aside from being exceptionally cute and adorable (and I know I'm not supposed to use the describing words 'cute and adorable' in reference to straight men), he comes and talks to me each week, and is a genuinely nice person that is very easy to talk to. Watch out manager. I'm totally developing a crush on you!

But now, let's get on with the wondrous gifts I received! I'm going to try to post pictures into the text, but yesterday I tried that and my head about spun on my neck!

My first Christmas present! It was a beautiful green damask bag, which matched all of my other presents...it was wonderful! Even better, it was stuffed with these fabulous scrapbooking projects! I can't wait to create with these. And the paisly rub-ons...they're glittery. AND, it came with a precious sign that said "blessed." I am!

As for things you wouldn't think were in the same category, but are- I got a cordless drill! I'm so excited about my drill. It was my present from my uncle, that he picked out all by himself. My aunt gave him a few ideas of what I wanted/needed, but he always picks out my present himself, and this is what he picked! I can do so much more, especially crafty things and things around the house. However, given my record with most power tools, just beware. Be very aware.

This is my annual calendar. My mom gets it for me every year. It's my Mary Englebreit calendar. And I've gotten one every year for the past few years. Like nine of the past few years. Or probably more. For a while, she tried to hide it, but now she just wraps it and hands it over. The funny part is that last year, I had it up in my apartment, and finally switched it from January to June, and then from June to October. And when I took it down last night, it was still on October.

One of the in-laws lives internationally, and every year she gives everyone something from either where she lives (how I got two Indonesian batiks) or where she travels (how I got the Vietnamiese rice bowl). Now that she's in London, I get Cath Kidston bags and travel accessories like these. I'm so excited because I hope to go back to Guatemala late in August, and I'll get to use the most fashionable passport holder. I guess I'll get to use it if I go back to Mexico in the spring.

These are the fabulous "wellies" that I got, so now my toes will be dry if it rains. I am a pisces, and although I don't believe in that junk, typically pisces have feet issues, and I so don't like for my feet to be wet and cold all day. Now I just need rain that I'm not going to sleep through. In the footwear department, I also got a new pair of fuzzy crocs, in a beautiful pink, even though my mother didn't like the color I chose. I'm just impressed she bought them for me anyways.

There is a bit of a joke about this gift. I make these delictable jalapeno, cream cheese pastry puff wonders, but I need a mini-muffin pan to create them, and I don't have one. The last time I made them I borrowed my mother's mini-muffin pan, and the result was a spectacular disaster, in which I thought I may have to buy her a new pan. Now I have my own to mess up.

And this! Oooohh...look at this! It's a Paula Deen 12" skillet! It just makes me want to put a stick of butter in it! I hung it on the wall because it was too pretty to put in the cabinet. And inside the beautiful skillet is a non-stick silicone spatular. I'm exceedingly excited about the spatular. I'm also excited about the dishtowels that are red and white and will be beautiful in my kitchen. And the bottle.....oh, yum yum yum, it is port balsamic vinegar. I can't wait to glaze that over chicken or put it over feta cheese on a bed of red lettuce...I'm drooling just thinking about it!
And then there are these two gifts. A make-up bag in a beautiful brown and turquiose damask print, and a pink paisley patterned scarf. They were both my sister's presents. That she didn't want. And she's the kind of girl that's going to tell you if she doesn't want something. So she told Mom shortly after opening them that she didn't like/need them. And since they were awesome and screamed "Jen! She needs these! They should have been for her! She would appreciate them!" I got them! Yay me! I've worn my scarf almost every day. It's the principal of the thing.

Other items not pictured:
- a new tv for the bedroom
- more candy than a girl can eat, except that I got a good bit of movie card money, so now I don't have to go to the concession stand.
- a Cowboy's jersey
- a keychain

I am blessed. What about you? What was your favorite present to get? to give?

  1. Yay! What great gifts! I too was thrilled with my gifts. My hubby bought me a Cricut Expressions. I almost peed my pants but decided I should start a new scrapbook page instead. He told me it was really a gift for him since he loves to check out my progress on the scrapbooks.
I love that you are still crafty. I'm a craftaholic!

    Hugs and LIOB!
