Apparently I'm going to Barbie Camp

I have so many things going on right now. I'd love to be a consistent blogger, but right now that's just not possible. I'm also exhausted.

I leave for Colorado on Saturday evening. I'm going to YL camp at Crooked Creek.

Typically, my camps and such are during the hottes parts of July, in a place that annually runs a race called the "Hotter Than Hell" bike race. So, clearly, I've got to pack a little differently for this trip.

I knew that, and I gladly accepted advice from some of the seasoned vets that are going. One of the girls called me and told me all about it yesterday, but I was in a store and the song "I Want You To Want Me" was playing, so I wasn't really listening at all.

Then, this morning, another leader sent me her personal packing list. It was two pages long. Typed. Single spaced.

Ya'll. Seriously. Two pages.

First of all, the fact that it is a typed document that is divided into categories should tip me off as to the anal nature of the typer, though I did have my suspicions.

Then, I got a text from another leader mentioning something, and I asked her if there was anything else we needed, since I'm going shopping tomorrow. Her response:
add to your shopping list bug spray, nail file, pens, extension cord, lysol bleach wipes, stain remover, lysol sanitizing spray and chapstick
This takes high maintenance to a new level. With all of the stuff I'm bringing (the categories include: clothes, special dress up things, mountain gear), I will be taking more things than I packed when I went to a third world country.

There are things on this list that lead me to think I'm heading to Barbie camp. Like nail polish. And nail polish remover. And stain remover. I've got an idea for a stain remover... if I get a stain on my shirt, I remove it and put a different one on.

I'm not sure how I am supposed to fit all of this in one suitcase.

And tomorrow- I'll tell you about that one time I died my hair pink. And that one time was this afternoon at 4:45.
