I should make more of an effort to blog on the weekends. So much happens then, and I make so many mental notes. Sometimes, I even write them down. Of course, by Monday, I look at my list and think "what did I mean when I wrote 'opening doors'?", which is my problem today. If anyone knows/remembers what happened that prompted me to write 'opening doors', please let me know.
I went through the teller line at the bank, and I got a pop up. I had to sit in the teller's line in my car, as tired and cranky as I was, and politely decline an excellent introductory offer. Ridiculous! Now that we've got pop-up blockers on our computers, we've got to deal with them at the bank!
I was listening to the radio this weekend, which is unusual, and I happened upon the local Christian station, which is also unusual. I don't really listen to the Christian station, for reasons I won't go into right now. The lyrics caught me right away in a "name-that-tune" sort of way, and I paused there for a minute to quiz myself on what song was playing. Well, I figured it out...it was a popular country song, redone by different artists and with a much more musak-feel too it. It was pathetic. Pathetic pathetic pathetic. Aside from further reinforcing my desire not to listen to that station, I just had to ask WHY? It's happened several times over the last few months and years. I think it just sucks the life out of songs. Why not just play the original on your station? My question is this:
Is a song considered more spiritual because it's being performed by a "Christian" artist?
And, furthermore, is that really Christian?
