It has begun.
The most wonderful time of the year.
College Football Season.
More specifically: Gator Football Season.
I'm so excited, I can't contain myself.
This year, it's even better. Besides a #7 preseason ranking, and a second-season coach with an exceptional second-season record, they're starting the season playing a real team! Usually, they start the season against some sort of Louisianna-Girls'-School-For-The-Blind type of school, but this year, they're starting against my second-favorite college football team: The University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles.
I was supposed to go to that college. We lived in Mississippi (pronounced "Mi-sip-ee") when I started high school, and I used to go to the football games in Hattiesburg. That's where my initial love of college football started. It's hard not to love college football when you spend your weekends watching some guy named Brett Favre playing QB in a quintessential college town like Hattiesburg. It was magical, and it was the beginning of a long love of college football.
And since I can't be here:
I guess I'll have to settle for the computer play-by-play.
Oh, and Kudos to Tennesse for beating the snot out of Cal, who was ranked oh-so-much-higher than they are. But don't get too excited you wacky Volunteer fans, because we're coming your way very very soon.
