Bone Head

I had the funniest experience with two kindergarteners today. It won't come across as funny here, but I'm gonna try. And, no, I didn't misspell anything. It's how they sounded.

The second grade teachers and I were standing in the hallway this afternoon, when a little girl and little boy, both with ice bags, come walking towards us, obviously out of place.

girl: "Exkoos me! Exkoos me! Do you know where Ms. Jack's class is?"
boy: "Fourth grade"

One of the other second grade teachers asks if they know where the fourth grade hall is, and he shakes his head that he doesn't. Lindsay tells him that it's all the way across the school, which it pretty much is. I step in and ask if they need me to walk with them. As I'm walking, the little girl says "I hit my mouth and he hit his head." He's got a pretty big knot, so I ask him if he hit his head on her mouth. "Yeah" he says.

We continue walking down the hall, and she says "my mouth weawy huwts. Man, he's got a bony head."

So flippin' cute. Good thing I don't have to teach that all day long, though. I've got my hands full with my princes and princesses.

Reasons: walking outside of my portable way too late night-before-last, and finding the sky on fire with oranges and pinks. It took my breath away...many of the second grade princes and princesses frolicking in the fall leaves- throwing them up in the air and running underneath them...one of my princes and one of my princesses being so sweet and nice to each other that it just made my heart melt...a fourth grader coming to my rescue and killing the ginormous spider in the middle of the hallway. I lead a really good life.
