I've made a few changes to set things back the way they were. I liked the other template, but it wasn't me. I like this one better because it's simple, and it's me. My aunt liked the header with the feet better too. I still love it that those are my toes in the sand!
I've also changed my profile shot to one of my very favorite pictures of Daisy Belle. Around Christmastime, I was really thinking a lot about anticipation, especially as it relates to the coming of the King, and for some reason, Daisy kept sitting for long periods of time in front of the window, just staring out. Snapped a picture. Loved it.
I updated my book list. I'm not reading as much as I used to, which makes me feel less-smart than I usually do, for no real reason. I just finished Velvet Elvis for a group discussion at church, and it was good. It was even better when I got together to discuss it with people who don't think the same way I do about the book.
The book I bought tonight is Plan B, by Anne Lamott. I loved Traveling Mercies, and I think I will like this one. I'm only about four pages in, and some things she says are really rubbing me the wrong way, but it's because I don't agree with her, and that's not the judge of whether or not it's a good book...just that I don't agree with her, and I think some of the stuff she says is stupid. But I'll keep reading it, and probably glean some Truth from it, and probably have a few things to reconcile when it's all over.
The other exciting news is that my laptop finally bit the dust and they gave me a new one. It was very exciting. I went to school with no idea that I'd be going home with a new laptop. It's the same generation as mine, so it's still 4 years old, but it has all of the keys in place, and you don't have to prop it up against anything to keep the screen up. So there!
Otherwise, life is simple and good.
Plan B is nowhere near Traveling Mercies as far as quality, but I think I could just hang out with Anne Lamott and enjoy her company, regardless of thought differences.
ReplyDeleteditto. she's not my cup of tea, not a bad deal, but as far as buying the book...I could'a had a V8
