So, it appears that I have neglected to grade any papers for the last 37.4 million years (or 3 weeks). And so, since I need to send home little progress reports, I should probably get to those. Today, I decided to tackle that pile.
Ya'll, I spent one whole hour grading papers after school, and only finished the math. Seriously. I managed to finish the Social Studies as well, but I just couldn't get the rest done before I absolutely had to leave, and just bring the rest home, as my own personal punishment.
Tonight I have been grading papers, instead of what I wanted to be doing:
- catching up on last week's episode of Pushing Daisies
- catching a new series "Chuck" (like I need another television distraction)
- completing my Halloween wreath before Halloween, which is actually a novel concept for me
- jogging around the track (okay, okay. quit laughing. but I was going to walk really fast around the track)
- clean up the house before my aunt comes (maybe tomorrow)
- practice the guitar...I began lessons again, and promised my precious guitar teacher that I would be better at practicing
- go to bed early, at around 8:30, since I'm exhausted from a long day
But no. I get to do none of those. I get to grade papers. And when that's over, I get to grade more papers. And after that...a few more papers.
But, there are two silvery linings to my dark-cloud-of-papers-that-need-to-be-graded:
1. It's the first real cold snap of the season, so I made red beans and rice! I love love love making red beans and rice, even if they don't turn out as good as my mom's or aunt's. It's like my own little welcome to fall ritual.
2. Tomorrow afterschool, I am chopping off the hair. I think I'm going to take about 7 - 9" off. Obviously, I'm having someone else do it, and she's got the greatest hairstyle idea, something about a character from General Hospital. So, we'll see what it looks like tomorrow. But, bye bye long ponytail!
And now, I'm off to grade a few more papers before I go to bed.
