We got to the concert, and John, Donnie, and I hung out. Actually, all five of the boys were in the picture, but the um, glare off two of the other three warranted their cropping out of the picture. Sorry guys.
The concert was all I expected and more. Because I am a bit of a nerd, I couldn't help but compare this concert to the last one I went to, back in glorious 1988.
*We interrupt this concert post to inform you that the baking I was doing went spectacularly wrong, and I may be purchasing a new mini-muffin pan for my mother on my next trip to Target. Oh, and immediately cleaning my oven.
Some things did not change:
- the screaming was ear-splitting
- many of the outfits there were very, um, eye catching.
- all of the boys seemed to have continued their persona in the band
- there was fanfare, pyrotechnics, and way overpriced t-shirts
- they are still so totally cute!
Some things were very different:
- I drove myself and paid for my own ticket. I also successfully navigated my way around downtown Dallas like a big girl.
- when a bra was thrown on the stage, it was not of the training variety
- there was quite a bit of alcohol sold and consumed
- many many of us had to get up and go to work the next morning.
What I loved about the concert was that these guys didn't take themselves seriously. They did all of their old dance moves, sang all of their old songs, and just embraced what made them famous, and what made all of those girls come to see them.
Oh, and Natasha Bettingfield opened for them, and she put on a good show as well!
So completely and totally jealous of you!! And don't worry about cropping the other three boys out because you still have my man Jonathan in it! He's HOT!!!!
ReplyDeleteOk NOW I am totally pumped for the concert in Nov. And love that people are going to drink a bunch...since I will be selling beer! :) YEA! PCQ
