Is this better than the licking?

So, Daisy has really dry skin, and allergies, and has been licking this one spot for two days. I put medicine on it in the morning, put her in the crate, where she can't reach it, and it's better when I get home. Then she stays up all night, licking it, keeping me up and making herself miserable, and it gets worse. Vicious cycle. I'm going to try to break it.

I bought her a cone. And boy howdy is she pissed. I'm not sure what's worse. The licking, or this:
(mind you, these noises are all her...)
