Because I'm watching Elf, I've changed the title of this post about fourteen million times to reflect my favorite quotes from the movie...
Tomorrow starts Dec. 1. I cheated a little and put the wreath on the door last night. I made it last year, and I absolutely love coming home to a wreath I made.
I pulled out all of the decorations out of my closet, so I can get started on it tomorrow. I did find two exciting things, though. Two new aprons! I got one for Christmas last year, and it will be my baking apron, and the other I got at Target the day after Christmas, which will be my cooking apron. Yes, I wear different aprons for baking and cooking. And I'm cleaning my oven right now, so if I don't post tomorrow, it means I have died of carbon monoxide poisoning, so say nice things about me at my funeral. Anyways, here are the aprons I discovered today:
That's not even the most exciting thing (to me!)
This weekend, I began work on two Christmas projects. One is a magnetic advent calendar. I'm not finished with it, but when I am I will post the finished product and how I did it.
But here's the second project, of which I am SO proud! I am so proud because I finished it! I don't ever have the opportunity to sit and scrapbook for 6+ hours straight, so many projects are unfinished or are stretched out over months.
It's my December Daily book! I finished it! I am going to enjoy every day of December as I journal it in pictures and other scrapbook items. I'll post a picture of each day, but here's the cover. I opted for simple, because I can't always master the "junked up" look without the project looking like a big piece of junk. So I went all simple. The only thing to make it perfect would be the binder mechanism so they're not loose pages. I'm anxiously awaiting them in the mail, but they're coming from Canada, so it may be a few days. But here's the cover!
I know a lot of people doing the December Daily thing. Is it a lot of fun? Should I try it? The magnetic advent calender was the monthly project for november at the Freak. I wasn't able to make one this year. I can't wait to see yours!
ReplyDeleteI popped over from Cara's blog. She and I did a Favorite Things Swap a couple of weeks ago which is how I found her and now you. I was born in Dallas and lived in Austin growing up. I still miss it. Anyway, I'm so glad you had a good Thanksgiving!
