The year in review...

First, let me say that at least once a day, I say (out loud) "I'm such an idiot." I seem to miss the obvious on a routine basis. For instance, tonight I thought to myself 'there are an awful lot of don't-drink-and-drive commercials on tv.' I've actually been thinking that a lot over the last few days, and it finally hit me... New Year's Eve. Lots of people drink on NYE. More than the glass-or-two of wine I drink. And some people aren't as obsessive-compulsive about drinking and driving.



This list is mostly for my own benefit, but just in case you're amused, here's the year in review:
Movies:
I saw 17 movies in the theater.
Best: Gran Torino, Juno
Worst: My Best Friend's Girl


I watched 36 DVD's at home.
Best: Waitress, Amazing Grace, Into the Wild, Lars and the Real Girl, Music Within, Penelope, My Sassy Girl, Stardust
Worst: Smart People, The Other Boleyn Girl


January:
- Jacked up my iTunes...again. (I write this because I jack up my iTunes about as often as I lose my sunglasses


February:
- My second graders wrote about luv
- I was featured on People.com


March:
- It snowed at school.
- Headed back to Mexico
- Got guitar and a new camera
- I got a fancy new computer
- Jacked up my iTunes


April:
- learned I'd be teaching fourth grade next year
- began guitar lessons
- joined facebook. gave up on ever getting off the computer


May:
- first trip to the dogpark
- almost got another dog
- got a cricut!
- volleyball fi.as.co
- yearbook fi.as.co


June:
- school's out for summer!
- kept my boys for a few days. Lots of baseball practice
- almost got set up with a potentially Jewish seafood chef
- children's camp
- Bingo at the old folk's home


July:
- decided to go to Guatemala
- I got a little frustrated with Lifetime Entertainment Network
- Student camp


August:
- Guatemala mission trip
- climbed volcano. fell in.
- became a fourth grade teacher
- video production
- read the Twilight series...the obsession began


September:
- PCQ sets me up with a tattooed guy who turned out to be CRAZY. And not in a good way.
- went to church and the ER
- made my dream guy necessity list


October:
- a kangaroo showed up at school
- saw Michael Buble and NKOTB in concert
- we learned about the electrical college
- I had a run-in with a coyote
- chopped hair off



November:
- saw Twilight. At midnight. And went to school the next day
- got all medievil
- tried eHarmony. Didn't try very hard, though
- learned the untold story of the first Thanksgiving
- made my December daily album


December:
- Florida headed to the national title game...
- Christmas break came not soon enough
- trip down memory lane
- had a run-in with a yellow-jacket at a funeral

After all that, let's just get on with 2009.
