An email I sent to my fellow fourth grade teachers because it was either this or curse out loud in the middle of a quiet classroom full of fourth graders hard at work. Well, almost full of fourth graders hard at work.
Dear Fourth Grade Teachers,
My name is J------. I have three unfinished rough drafts in my to-do folder. And unfinished social studies. And language arts. And reading.
And those rough drafts? Well, I thought they were finished, because they had four sentences on them, but my teacher insists I have to write more. The nerve.
You may ask what I'm doing right now. Well, right now, I'm filling in the subscription card for a magazine that came from God-only-knows where, instead of doing the worksheet that's sitting in front of me.
I'd talk to you about it at lunch, but I'm pretty sure my dad's going to come get me to take me to somewhere like Taco Bell or Jason's Deli for lunch.
See ya!
J---
Ya'll. I about lost my mind today. We are so far behind with this one, and the test- THE TEST- is a week from Tuesday. We are so not going to make it. I got so sassy with this one, which I try not to do, but I couldn't help it. I told her to go to study hall. She did not go. She said "oh, I forgot." I didn't cuss. I didn't even holler, though I sooo wanted to. I just sassed off and sent her home. Oooooh. This isn't going to turn out well.
