Oh man. The storms as I slept...beautiful. It freaks Daisy out a little, so she snuggles up even more to me. And if I don't have to get out of bed...mmmm.
I woke up this morning acutely aware of something that might be a bit of a problem in my upcoming flight into the mountains.
I don't get sick often, but I do get worn out after things like the joy of a week away from home with little sleep on a twin 3" mattress that is called camp. Especially if I have a night like Thursday night, in which I have a complete allergic meltdown thank you camp chaparrel for mowing the grass at 3 in the afternoon.
My worn-outness always follows the same pattern, and I know what to expect. So, I've been over-the-counter medicating all week, and other than a little hacking, I've been fine. It's been one of the easier worn-out periods. Until this morning.
I woke up and tried to pop my ears, since the sinus pressure has built up and ya'll....I can't pop my ears! My first thought was "awesome! I'm getting on a plane to fly to a country whose elevation is similar to that of Denver...super-fun!"
What's worse is that I've been here before, and I know that when I do eventually get them popped, it completely throws my equilibrium off and I have a few moments of extreme vertigo. And by a few moments, I mean until I sit my sorry self down before I fall.
The good news is that it should be fixed by Saturday afternoon. Otherwise, I may chew both packs of gum I packed just on the flight down there. Also, I checked online, and the in-flight movies both there and back are movies I wanted to see but didn't in the movie theater, so I'll have a little entertainment as I'm trying to figure out my ear pressure.
And, it's supposed to be so stinking humid and hot when I get there, I won't even notice the ear pressure as I will have melted from 86% humidity. Yep. You read that right.
Now I'm off to take the unsuspecting Shih Tzu to the groomer. Boy is she gonna be mad. Then, I'm going to go shopping with two of the girls going on the trip with me.
You might want to give your doctor a quick call before you go. You really don't want to have any ear problems in guatemala. There's probably a reason that you can't pop them. Maybe you have the beginnings of an infection. Best to make sure before you go!
ReplyDeleteStill looking forward to your email.
