Thoughts inside my brain

- Donald Miller’s Blue Like Jazz is being turned into a movie. I don’t know how I feel about that.

- Oh my, ya’ll, I have got to stop getting sucked into the Hallmark channel when they play all day Love Saga marathons. These movies, combined with DVR mean a good amount of time spent on the couch. It’s ridiculous. And I cry at the end of every dang movie.

- And yes, I will probably watch the Hallmark Original Movie “Mrs. Washington Goes to Smith” starring Cybill Shepherd now that the channel has promoted it to death during said Love Saga marathon.

- I wish I had my camera right now, as my Shih Tzu is laid out in the funniest of positions. She’s been with my parents while I’ve been out of town and busy this weekend, so she’s all out of sorts. She’s exhausted, and I was hogging the pink blanket, so she nudged me off and threw herself into this ridiculous contortion she is currently snoring in. I know if I get up to get the camera she will move, and the moment will be lost.

- I’m reading Jim and Casper Go To Church. It is an excellent book and it’s making me think a lot. About worship, about “non-believers”, about what we call “the lost”, about a lot of things.

- I have a book picked out to read during the Guatemala trip. It’s Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I’ve heard so very much about this book, and lots of people love it. Unfortunately, one of those is my arch-nemesis at school. She loves it and quotes it and that makes me not want to read it at all. I know that is not very Christian-like, but at the same time, it’s true.

- Yep. Got up to get the camera…moment gone. Sigh.

- I have a girl date with my Sam-I-Am this week. We’re going to see (500) Days of Summer and have lunch and discuss teaching and boys and other such important things.

- I’m coming up on 10 years of singleness. That’s been on my mind a lot lately, mostly because I found some pictures from that relationship. I’m sure I’ll be writing a good bit about it, especially as September comes. That’s going to be a tough month, friends.

- I’m trying to decide what to write to post for while I’m gone to Guatemala. I have a whole week now to prepare, and I have lots of ideas about what to write during that time. Now to just narrow it down.

- I need to go workout. If I don’t get back into the habit now, it’s going to be even tougher to get back into the habit when I get back, and I have a feeling that I’m going to need it when I get back.
