Leaving...on a jet plane. Well...I was...

So, I didn't make it to Lubbock as planned yesterday.
I checked on my flight before I left the house. It was cancelled between the house and the airport.
I was rescheduled for a flight on the next day (today).
I was at the airport by the time I found out I was rebooked, so I decided to go inside to see if I could fly standby and also confirm that I was on today's flight (which leaves at 0:dark:30.

During this time, I got to stand in line to wait my turn with the ticket counter, and was able to observe people at the airport on Christmas Day.
Sweet. Jesus. Ya'll.

There are some real precious people at the airport on a Christmas Day. Like...
- The poor guy behind me. He was absolutely normal, and pretty nice, fond of the word "shennanigans," which made me smile, and the poor guy had to spend Christmas Eve in a hotel. Bless his sweet heart. He eventually gave up on the line we were in and just accepted his fate.
- The couple behind me. They were obnoxious at best. They spent the whole line being flirty and silly and then as they got closer they were making snarky comments. Annoying and not-as-quiet-as-they-thought snarky comments. They were asking to be smacked.
- A multitude of non-English-speaking passengers. All getting snippy with one another in their native tongues, and not very subtly either.
- The man in front of me and his woman, who were certifiable proof that every pot has it's lid. He was decked out in a cammo hunting jacked (really? In this age of heightened airport security) and was scratching his hiney right in front of me for most of the line. His woman (wife?) was wearing a pair of navy sweatpants (with a stain on the hiney), and a different blue shirt. She was rocking the blue-on-blue. She was also rocking the mustache and budding beard. Can't make it up friends. The thing about it that amazed me though was that they appeared to be having themselves a good old time.

I was only inside the actual airport for about 30 minutes. I'm sure the rest of the day provided many other precious people. Just glad I wasn't there for it!
