New year, new look, same me.

For Christmas, I got a fabulous new dress, and a coveted new pair of boots. Cowboy-ish boots. I have to add the -ish, because if I didn't, you would get the impression that I was a cowboy, or cowgirl, rather. And let's face it. If I was left alone in a field full of cows I would amuse myself for about ten minutes by mooing back at them, and then spend the rest of the time crying until someone came and got me.

Anyways, I wore this new outfit to church today, complete with curly hair and big flowerdy bow. Many people complimented my look, and not one, but two people asked me if my hair was real. One person even mentioned that I looked very "hip."

I know what you're thinking now.
What about the old Jen?
Is this new, fabulous Jen going to get all trendy and veer away from the wacky girl we know?

Fear not. I am still me.
Yes, I have a new and hopefully improving outer exterior, but deep down, I'm still the same wild and precious thing you love to read about.

For example, yes...I totally rocked the trendy and hip new look...right into the men's room. Luckily there was a man coming out that met me at the door. And one of the leaders I've known forever was walking down the hall to witness it and keep me humble.

While I quickly brushed off that incident as an innocent mistake anyone could make, I walked down the stairs to the sanctuary...and fell down three of them, landing on my knees, which was a perfect posture from which to pray that no one saw me.

New year
New look
Same old trainwreck.
