Oh, the day. The day indeed.
It all started well, with church as beautiful as usual, and I was even given a glow in the dark silly band by one of my little ones. I left the church to go get some lunch and run to Target. Then...
Bam!
Literally. I was trying to merge on to the frontage road, and the car that was in front of me suddenly stopped. Me? Not so much.
So, I ran into the back of them. And their new Acura.
It left a scratch and a slight puncture in their bumper.
It left a dent in my bumper... and all the oil that was in my car is now on the pavement in the Home Depot parking lot. Of course it is. Because I was planning on driving that car out of town on Wednesday.
The lady that I hit was from Oklahoma, and finally started to relax once she realized I was a fully insured driver who was taking full responsibility for the situation and was very forthcoming with both information and apologies.
Two hours later, when everything had been sorted out and I had been rescued by The Sister, I finally made it home. So did the car. Because when we attempted to get it towed to the dealership at which it will be repaired, we discovered said dealership was closed. And there was absolutely no way to get on to the parking lot. At all. After driving around the dealership three times looking for a solution to the problem, we just towed the sucker home and the driver's coming back tomorrow to tow for me.
Once home, I knocked a whole stack of stuff off of my desk and almost dropped my computer, and in catching it smooshed my right index finger something awful.
The only other option was to take a nap.
Then, instead of going to church for the camp share time, which I would really liked to have gone to, The Dad and The Sister picked me and The Daisy up and we all went to the ballgame, where GOOD GAWD it was hot. The pictures turned out good, though.
Now, instead of working and packing for my trip, I get to deal with getting my car fixed and work with the insurance company. The anticipation is killing me...
Tomorrow, I'll tell you all about the lessons I've learned from the car accident.
