I am not in Guatemala right now.

When I decided not to go to Guatemala this summer, I was asked by everyone "why?" I didn't know at the time. I now realize that God had other plans for me here.

School went so late, and I was gone for ten days in June, so I woke up one morning and it was July. From there, I spent some time with my family up in Palo Duro canyon, when I would have been leaving on a jet plane.

This week, when I would have been in the thick of the mission, I'm doing a little mission work of my own, both for myself and others.

Monday, I had my last Bible Study night and got to spend some time with some very special girlfriends.
Tuesday, I got to go downtown and get lost in a museum or two, taking advantage of a free admission day and a teacher's free admission perk. Next time: the downtown Farmer's Market.
Today, I got to take a dear friend's little one to get school supplies for himself and his sister, and had a blast.
Tomorrow, I'm going to do the same thing with another friend's little one, but after lunch and a movie, of course.
And Friday... well, Friday's another day for me (assuming I don't go into work, since I haven't been there all week).

This weekend is going to be spent getting the apartment in order so that I can start the long hours in the classroom in the upcoming two weeks.

I still don't know for certain why I was told No about going to Guatemala, but I have a few really good guesses.
