Anything can happen. How absolutely true.

This is already posted somewhere on this blog, buried in the more recent archives.

But, Kelly's Korner is doing a Show Us Your Life link-up, featuring singles.
And I'm nothing if not single.

So, if you're currently harboring the Man of My Dreams, please let him know the following facts(ish) about me:

1. I love Jesus and He loves me, and so I serve Him in every way that I can. I go on mission trips whenever I can, and would like to work in Africa on a short-term mission trip some day.

2. I love my dog Daisy. She's a Shih Tzu, without a lot of zu. (Sound it out...)

3. I went to The University of Florida, which is a far superior university, and I love college football more than I love almost everything else. And I can't watch Gator games with other people because I tend to lose my Christian values when I do. And my mother fusses at me for cursing so much.

4. I dyed my hair bright pink because my VBS kids raised more than $1500 for a children's hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. Though, I love doing daring things, so I actually died it before I knew if they'd met the goal or not. And this is not the first time I've done it.

5. During the school year, I teach fourth grade, and for a whole school year I have roughly 20 sons and daughters and they delight me and frustrate me as if they were truly my own.

6. I am a dress girl. I'd rather wear a dress and a skirt than a pair of jeans. There are so many bonuses to wearing a dress or skirt and I don't understand why others don't do so as well.

7. I am extremely creative, though it took me a long time to admit it and even longer to embrace it. Now, my apartment's just a wreck. And there are jenga blocks and spray paint on the porch.

8.  I live alone, which leads to an excessive amount of talking to inanimate objects. Like computers. I try to play it off like I'm talking to my dog, but she knows better. My students tell me that I growl at my computer when it is not working.
9. Music makes my world go round. I could listen to music all day. And I listen to all different kinds. I love making playlists that remind me what was going on at the time. And I can hear a few notes of a song and know exactly what song it is.

10. I have ADHD. In an adult, it manifests itself very differently than in children. Especially in this adult. If I forget to take my medicine, I'm more of a danger to myself and an annoyance to others. So I take my medicine. Every day.

11. I am psychotic about being on time. I actually consider on time to be late. I try to be fifteen minutes eary, even if it means I'm sitting in my car or driving around the block to kill time until it gets to be 'on time'.

12. I am not your typical ninja. Don't get me wrong. I am most certainly a ninja. But my ninja skills cover the simpler areas like packing for a trip, finding a good sale, and looking up things on google.  Or making a purse with some fabric and a stapler.

13. I quote movie lines nonstop. And television lines. Even though most of the time, they're either inappropriate for the situation, or no one gets them. And I'm okay with both of those.

14. I have a memory that you would not believe. It's almost photographic. Almost.

15. I startle extremely easily. It's comical. I can know you're in the room, and still jump out of my skin the moment you speak. It's the result of years of walking on eggshells.

16. I am a magazine junkie. It's my guilty pleasure. I buy them, read them in one sitting, maybe two, and then toss them. An extreme waste of money but a habit I can't break.

17.  I don't have many pictures of myself because I'm usually the one behind the camera. I tried to upload about seven pictures for this post. Epic fail. Now that I'm trying again, they've all worked. Technology and I are like that.

18. My girls. I use the term to refer to my cousins, but they are my girls. I remember the days when they were born, and I've lived with them multiple times over.

19. I am a thinker. I'm smart, but I try not to be obnoxious about it. Sometimes I fail. I'm a grammer snob and a very good speller, and sometimes can't help but correct spelling errors. Again... I try not to be obnoxious about it but sometimes fail.

20. I am a reader. I would love to have my nose buried in a book 24/7. I tend to get lost in the stories, and can't put books down.

21. As my teaching-partner-in-crime says, I'm the most unorganized organized person she knows. I'm very organized when it comes to projects and plans, but the miscellaneous tasks and things and papers are everywhere.

22. I love movies, and if I find one I like, I could watch it over and over. And over. And over. And it never gets old.

23. I love being on the water. Pool, lake, but not really the ocean. I am not a fan of sand. At all.

24. I form opinions very quickly, and rarely change them. This is not always a good quality. My good opinion, once lost, is forever gone.

25. I can't believe how long it's taken me to make this list. Wow.

That's me.

How about you?

I do not usually make comments to any post but the irony in #19 and #4 left me no choice. In #19 you post that you are a grammer snob and a very good speller. In #4 you killed your hair since you stated that you "died" it when actually you "dyed" it. Like you, I had to point out the correction.

  6. Anonymous- I had to laugh at the first correction, because I've had that header up for almost a month, and no one has corrected it, though I've gotten a couple of compliments on it. (And I'm known for leaving a word or letter out here and there in my projects!)

And I do appreciate the correction on #4. It's like walking around with something in your teeth and no one telling you about it. If I correct others, I have to be open to the same.

(And it was quicker for me to just go back to an old header than re-edit the one I had. Time to make a brand new one!)
