Happiness isn't happiness without a violin-playing goat

That is a movie quote. One of my readers should know what movie this is from right off the bat. I put it as the title because in the sermon today, the guest pastor kept saying "forgiveness isn't forgiveness unless..." and "forgiveness isn't forgiveness without..." and it brought that quote into my head.

I'm currently ending my free preview weekend by watching "Stardust" (I think that's an appropriate way to say goodbye to showtime, hbo, and starz). It's been such a long day. The last four or five days have been so long the things that happen in the morning (such as church) seem like they were days ago.

It's Father's Day. It's hard to believe that ten years ago, I was barely on speaking terms with my father. Back then, I was few weeks from being completely disowned by him. Nothing breaks a girl like the words "you are not my daughter."

But that was ten years ago, and now, things are so different. I "surprised" him with a trip to Waco to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and the Texas Rangers museum. We had lots of fun and took lots of pictures, and discussed corn and Willie saving the planet. But it's been a long day, and I'm going to bed shortly.

  2. What a very cool Father's Day gift! Your father is undoubtedly blessed to have you as his daughter, and I'm glad to read about God's redemptive work in your relationship with him. Hope you rested well :)

  4. Apparently Abby knows the movie better than me. Is she right? Sorry, I goofed on this one. LOL! The only thing I remember from that movie is the part about the bench. Maybe I should see it again, huh? Thanks for the confidence, though. ; )
