I often wonder if I blog because my life is so bonkers crazy, or if my life is so bonkers crazy because I write about it here.
One thing I do know is to surround myself with people who "get" me. It's taken me a while to find them. Here's an example of why KC and I work so well together.
We're listening to the DEA helicopter pilot talk about his copter. We've intermittently listened to him whilst also discussing amongst ourselves his resemblance to Dog the Bounty Hunter and his usage of technical jargon like "the thingy" and "this doo-hickey." He went on to talk to us about the front of the helicopter, and what the two large, sharp metal scissor-like projections from the front are. He says they are wire cutters, and are to be used in case he has to land in a fenced in area or gets caught up in electrical wires. He mentions that he hasn't yet had to use them.
The following conversation ensued:
me: "Hey. I wonder if he has a taser, and if he'll let me use it for like five seconds."
KC: "Just don't aim for the chest. I saw that on tv somewhere."
me: "I want to drive the helicopter. Do you think he'll let me drive it?"
KC: "No, because then he'll have to use those wire-cutting thingys to get you out of the power line you're going to get stuck in."
Yeah, this girl gets me.
