Outside my window... a zillion degrees of summer. The days of rain have been so wonderful, but it is nice to see the sunshine. I titled my second summer playlist 'here comes the sun' in June before I knew we would have 40 days of rain. It's appropriate now.
I am thinking... I have GOT to do laundry so I can pack for camp next week. I've also got to look through my closet and figure out what exactly I'm going to wear while at camp. And how I'm going to do my hair every day.
I am thankful for... summer, and the relaxed pace it brings. I go to bed just a smidge later than usual, and get up more than a smidge later than usual. I have an entire day off every week, and work at a fun office where I can relax and be myself. I am very thankful.
From the kitchen... a disaster. I have cleaned up the food messes, but there's clutter everywhere because I haven't cooked anything since last week. There's just junk everywhere and I was totally going to clean it, but maybe tomorrow.
I am wearing... a grey shirtdress and black leggings. It could probably serve as a dress, except it's a smidge too short for me. Even with leggings, I have to be very consciensious when I bend over. The dress was roughly $3.24 thanks to a 50% off clearance sale at Old Navy.
I am creating... some letters for a little girl's nursery. That's going to be born next Tuesday or Wednesday. So I should really get them finished. And I'm doing all sorts of things with cammo fabric. Very few of them are turning out well, though.
I am going... to my Ruth Bible study tonight. I love my Tuesday nights because of the group of girls that get together and share each other. Because of my rolls at church, I don't often get to go to a formal Bible Study more than once or twice a year, and so to have this Tuesday night group is such a treasure.
I am reading... a whole lotta nothing. I'm trying to read East of Eden, but it's not going well. I'm reading a little bit of Captivating but it's anything but captivating right now. So I'm falling back on magazines.
I am hearing... Daisy' collar jingling as she scratches. A lot. Apparently the same mosquito that has been tormenting me for the last few days has been after her as well. She's got a couple of bites, and the poor girl scratches constantly and then throws a monumental hissy fit when I put medicine on it.
Aroung the house... a mosquito of some sort is relentlessly terrorizing me, and now my little dog too. Every night three or four bites. I'm about to bug bomb the whole place just to show the darn thing who is the boss of this place (which we all know is Daisy).
One of my favorite things... hibachi. Haven't had it in forever. The Peace Corps Queen is my usual cook-it-in-front-of-you dinner date, but since she's galavanting over in Europe somewhere, I have to settle for someone else. The Sister wants to have dinner one night this week, so I might make her go there with me. Although I don't know if I can come up with an entire dinner's conversation. We'll see.
A few plans for the rest of the week... put the finishing touches on camp, dentist, hairdo (maybe less pink?), and a dreaded textbook training on Friday afternoon. Because who wouldn't want to spend their Friday afternoon learning how to use the reading textbook when she teaches math, science, and social studies.
A picture to share... someone feels neglected and needs my attention. Immediately. And she got all up in my grill to prove it.
P.S. She had to move off my lap so I could type this, and she's snuggled up in a little bitty ball and grumping at me to show she's disgruntled.
P.P.S. I had to take her on a field trip to get the mail so she would leave me alone. She's happy now.
And those letters are so cute!! Thanks so much!
